Welcome to Penang International indian Festival 2010 - Penang Islands' finest Indian community based festival celebrating music, dance, arts, shopping and Island Culture. The festival runs over 9 magical days from the 5th - 13th June 2010 at a public open plaza, called Urban Square at the Penang Times Square in the heart of George Town Penang.The Penang International Indian Festival 2010 will attract Malaysians and people the world over to gather and enjoy a diverse line up of Indian cultural dance performers, singers, performers display their talents. As well as hosting a smashing arrat of Indian Cultural Performances, the program is dedicated to showcasing shopping halls to provide a single shopping platform for the people to buy Indian products like: Handi-crafts,textiles, jewelry, spices and condiments, Sarees, Punjabi suits, women fashion accessories, leather items, packed foods etc..,
The Penang International Indian Festival 2010 Arts, Culture & Community Program celebrates a range of Indian cultures through music, dance, visual arts, and performances. It provides both artistic and cultural exchange opportunities for the local community, and strives to create harmony among Malaysian cultures by coming together on equal ground, in a positive environment on the stunningly beautiful Penang Island.
This annual community event will be free and open to the public. Professional musicians and groups will perform a variety of live Indain music and dance performances representing many local Indian ethinic groups.
There will be various activities for children such as art workshops, colouring contests, face painting, carnival games and more. Along with the music and children's activities, there will be food, non-profits and other vendors.
